The mission of the Volunteer Center of North Texas (VCNT) is transforming communities to strengthen nonprofits through volunteerism.

|
To serve agency members, the Volunteer Center of North Texas will:
|
| * |
Recruit and refer volunteers without regard to race, age, religion, creed, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and nationality. |
| * |
Refer volunteers to agencies that will not ask volunteers to participate in or give instruction for religious, political or direct solicitation fundraising activities. Special events of a fundraising nature (walks, runs, festivals, golf tournaments) will be eligible for volunteer referral if the event is open to and benefiting the community at large.
|
| * |
Refer volunteers to for-profit organizations that provide direct care or patient assistance such as hospitals, hospice, and retirement homes. These referrals are not for any administrative or support positions in the for profit agency.
|
| * |
Maintain database of current volunteer opportunities as provided by the agency. If the volunteer opportunity is at a for-profit organization, it will be noted as such.
|
| * |
Assist organizations to develop and maintain meaningful volunteer job opportunities and volunteer management programs through training seminars for volunteer coordinators, staff or on an individual consultation basis.
|
| * |
Refer volunteers to members in accordance with agency needs and volunteer's interests. It is the agency's
responsibility to thoroughly interview, screen, select and supervise the volunteer.
It is up to the caller to contact the agency for placement.
|
| * |
Accept no liability for the individual referred to any agency.
|
| * |
Provide no accident or liability insurance for any volunteer. It is the responsibility of the agency to review risk factors and provide appropriate coverage.
